The Grace Of God Has Been Abundant In My Life - Says Archbishop Val As He Turns 14 As A Bishop

The Archbishop of Onitsha and the Metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke has expressed with utmost gratitude his joy, and satisfaction in his apostolate as an Archbishop within the past fourteen years he was ordained.

      Speaking during anniversary dinner organised in his honour by the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Presbytery, the Archbishop revealed that all Glory and Honour should go to God Almighty who made everything about him possible, for “I am whatever I’m by His Grace,” he said.

            He made this comment following many accolades by the Clergy, the Religious and men and women of Lay apostolate who gathered at the event to share in his joy.

            Rev. Fr. Pius Kene Nwankwo who was the master of ceremony at the event explicated some symbolic meaning from the number fourteen (14) explaining it to be a number representing double blessing and perfection since the number seven (7) according to Jewish tradition signifies wholeness (perfection).

            Throwing more light to the no (14), Very Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Dim, the Rector of Iwene Michael Cyprian Tansi Major Seminary supported Fr. Pius and observed that the no 7 put to 7 preceded a Golden Jubilee and therefore, is a holy number. He was grateful to the Archbishop especially in the Seminary apostolate.

            Speaking in amazement at the level of Archbishop Okeke’s apostolate, one of the longest serving priests in the Onitsha Archdiocesan curia and the Vice Chancellor of the Archdiocese Very Rev. Fr. Patrick Omutah among other things highlighted the excellent public relationship of the Archbishop and his
